چکیده

Suppose M = M0 × . . . × MN is a product symplectic manifold. We show that, under certain hypotheses, there is a Hamiltonian perturbation of split-type for which all perturbed pseudoholomorphic curves are regular.

Spectral edge regularity of magnetic Hamiltonians

We analyse the spectral edge regularity of a large class of magnetic Hamiltonians when the perturbation is generated by a globally bounded magnetic field. We can prove Lipschitz regularity of spectral edges if the magnetic field perturbation is either constant or slowly variable. We also recover an older result by G. Nenciu who proved Lipschitz regularity up to a logarithmic factor for general ...

Approximation theorems for fuzzy set multifunctions in Vietoris topology. Physical implications of regularity

n this paper, we consider continuity properties(especially, regularity, also viewed as an approximation property) for $%mathcal{P}_{0}(X)$-valued set multifunctions ($X$ being a linear, topological space), in order to obtain Egoroff and Lusin type theorems forset multifunctions in the Vietoris hypertopology. Some mathematicalapplications are established and several physical implications of thema...

Spatial Analysis of “Crazy Quilts”, a Class of Potentially Random Aesthetic Artefacts

Human artefacts in general are highly structured and often display ordering principles such as translational, reflectional or rotational symmetry. In contrast, human artefacts that are intended to appear random and non symmetrical are very rare. Furthermore, many studies show that humans find it extremely difficult to recognize or reproduce truly random patterns or sequences. Here, we attempt t...

Hawaiian Flag Quilts: Multivalent Symbols of a Hawaiian Quilt Tradition

As RESEARCHERS HAVE amply demonstrated, quilts are a rich source of historical information. Quilt makers' beliefs, concerns, and emotions are often embodied in quilt motifs and names. Quilt making, bestowal, and use can reflect interpersonal ties and social conventions. Quilts can also convey economic circumstances, political convictions, and social commentary. In every aspect of their creation...

A Comparison Principle for Hamilton-jacobi Equations with Discontinuous Hamiltonians

We show a comparison principle for viscosity superand subsolutions to Hamilton-Jacobi equations with discontinuous Hamiltonians. The key point is that the Hamiltonian depends upon u and has a special structure. The supersolution must enjoy some additional regularity.
